LSC #59

I'm back tonight with another Loonie Stampers Challenge card. I am starting to wonder if I would ever make a card again without inspiration from these ladies. Ah, but I also got inspiration from this lady for this card.

I realized once I put the button over the ribbon it probably was no longer a single layer card. Oh well, at least I have another Christmas card down!

I'm sorry to say that my craft room is the cleanest room in my house at the moment. I haven't been able to spend much time in there lately, or clean the rest of the house for that matter. September has been a blur. But I did manage to play along with the Loonie Stampers Challenge, although late.

When I saw Regan's card I instantly thought it was a great design for a Christmas card. But I also loved Char's use of kraft on her card. Here is the outcome of that dual inspiration. And as I so often do with simple designs, I replicated to make a set. This last shot is of the inside.

Thanks for visiting!!

Late Loonie Stampers Challenge #57!

Hello out there! It's been a while since I've posted as we are in the thick of work, school, hockey, cross country running, and volunteeering...all while trying to keep up on things around the house. But I am not complaining because life is good! I just have to make sure I find some time to play in my craft room and then life will be GREAT!!

I did manage to make this card during the week to play along with the weekly Loonie Challenge. I love the colour combo but had no inspiration at all so kept it simple. The card will go to my little sister Krissy who has recently gotten into card making. She was always the creative one and I was the bookwormish one so I knew it was just a matter of time, and she is already blogging! It's so great to share this hobby with her. She has two little boys so I am hoping she gets into scrapbooking as well.

Here is a picture of us at a Liver fundraiser at my work last October, in honour of our friend Shaun Donaldon who passed away at 29 following years of struggling with liver disease and two transplants. My boss is Irish and we had a St. Patrick's in October theme. Krissy is the taller one and was expecting her youngest at the time. A lot has changed in the past year (including my hair, thankfully, lol), but Shaun is never far from our thoughts.

Well, have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by! I'm off to check out some garage sales in the neighbourhood.

Cinnamon Sticky Buns

I made these on the long weekend for Jake and a friend he had over. I normally make cream cheese icing when I do cinnamon buns but we were out of cream cheese. Instead, I made a simple glaze out of butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and icing sugar. They turned out more like 'sticky buns' but still oh-so-good. In fact, my husband said he preferred them with the glaze. Not that he got a chance to have many, the two teenagers ate most of them for breakfast!!

Merry and Bright

Well, it's back to work today after a lovely long weekend. I got a jump start on my Christmas cards over the weekend. I used this simple and cost effective design to make 30 cards in this style. I love all the bright colours. I started another 30 cards in a different design and will try to finish those throughout the week. No, I don't have 60 families on my Christmas card list...I will be selling them at a local craft fair in late November. As well, I have an order of 50 to fill for my mother's neighbour. So, I will be busy over the next little while. I am really not into making Halloween cards so I will head straight to Christmas...ha ha.

Today also marks the start of hockey season for my son. This is his 10th season playing and every year it seems to come faster and faster. While I love to watch him play, it means trading time in my cozy craft room to sit in a cold arena.

Have a great day and thanks so much for visiting!
