Hockey Thanks

We had the wind up party for my son's hockey team today. Although they fell short in the final and ended up coming in second for the city championships, the boys had a great season. Overall, I enjoyed managing the team even though it kept me away from the craft room a little too often. I thought I would share the items I made for the party today.

Here are the photo book souvieners I put together for each player using my Yourstory machine. I am happy with how they turned out. I have made scrapbook style books in the past for Jake's teams, but my husband and son told me the boys are getting a bit too old for that now, so I did these instead. I am really happy with how polished looking they turned out. One of the parents asked if I had ordered them!

These are the cards I made for the two head coaches. One of the coaches wife has a Cricut and is a scrapbooker so I'm sure she'll like it even if he doesn't. ha ha. I used the sportsmania cart.

We had three assistant coaches who I made these quick cards for in our team colours.

These are the thank you cards made for key volunteers on the team such as treasurer, score keepers, jersey managers, etc. All PTI products excepts for the sentiment.

And this last one was for fun for a friend on the team who is just as crazy a hockey mom as me. She also did a lot for the team this season.

How fun for me to combine two things I love...crafting and hockey. Although I'm happy to say there will be more crafting and less hockey coming up!!

Hockey Sign

Hi there!

No card to share but I thought I would post the sign I made for the big game tonight. My son's hockey team is in the city finals tonight! I hesitated making the sign as I thought it would be too juvenile (the kids are 13 and 14) but Jake says it's "sick," which anyone with teenagers knows is a compliment. I will confess I am a full blown hockey freak mom. I also do a lot of volunteering related to hockey hence the lack of crafting and blogging recently.

For the sign I used my Cricut and the Don Juan and Sports Mania cartridges, about $2 of cardstock and a 97 cent poster board. The banner on the top has each players name and number. I couldn't resist lacing up the skates. I will definitely use these images again for a hockey scrapbook page sometime in the future.

Oh, and I may have made the sign but I won't be raising it over my head at the game or anything. I'll give it to one of the little siblings on the team to do that! I'll be too busy cheering my face off.

Thanks for popping by.

Happy Retirement

Hello out there. It's been a long time since I have bee able to post. I have been working and volunteering lots lately and it hasn't left much time for playing. But this morning I found some time to not only make a card, but actually photo and blog it as well!

This card is for a lady I work with who is retiring at the end of March. The stamp is Delightful Daisies by Technique Tuesday and I just bought it yesterday (funny how I am still finding time to shop..ha ha). I love it and thought it would be a good one for colouring with my Copics. I recently took two Copic classes with my friend Carly, which helped a lot but I sure need practice, especially with shading. I didn't worry about shading on this card and instead focued on blending. These are the colours I used.

Thanks for visiting, have a fabulous weekend.
