Hey!

Well, it's Monday and that means back to work for me. I didn't do as much cooking and crafting as I had hoped to over the weekend, but did manage to make a few things

including this recipe and the card above.

I picked up the wood grain stamp (by All Night Media) from Michaels over the weekend and this was my first project with it. I hope to find some time during the week to play with it some more as it's very fun. Even my 13 year old son thought it was cool!

Have a great day!

LSC #42

Good Morning!

This week's Loonie Stamper's Challenge was to use plaid. The pp used in this card was the closest I had to plaid. Please visit Charlene's blog to see her uber cool card as well as links to all the Loonie Ladies great creations. Some of them even made their own plaid!

I am in a bit of a pickle this morning. It is so nice outside that I really should get out and enjoy the day, BUT I just received a new Papertrey Ink order and really want to play inside. I'll have to find time for both. It's all about balance, right?

Have a SUPER day!

Hello Yellow

Yellow is not a colour I reach for when making cards. However, when I saw this card I was insprired to use it and my beloved polka dot background set! I love the combination of kraft, chocolate, yellow, and white. Now, if I can only learn to tie a bow...lol.

I hope you are having a nice weekend. It was a beautiful day here in Calgary and I went garage sale-ing with a good friend of mine and her hubby. Found a few trinkets for my craft room as well as 10 good paperback books for $7! That should get me thru most of the summer. The best find of the day was this cookbook for $1!! I tend to look up recipes mostly online, but it's nice to pull out a cookbook once in a while too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Loonie Stampers Challenge Cards

I finally found some time to make cards. AND I used my pink sewing machine (that I bought back in early December) for the first time! As you can see I need some practice with it...ha ha. It has been 15 years since I have used a sewing machine, but I now have a sewing/cuttlebug desk so I hope to get to it often.

Anyways, here are LSC cards from last week and this past Friday. Please visit Charlene's blog to see her cool card and links to all the other ladies fab-o creations. Great colour combo the past two weeks!

Thanks for visiting and have a super weekend!!

I decoupaged!

I first saw tile coasters on Etsy and thought "I can do that!!"

They were a lot of fun to make. I had previously covered some cheap 29 cent tiles but the effect is SO much nicer on the tumbled marble ones, which I found at Home Depot ($4.99 for 9 tiles). I didn't photo the bottom but they are finished with small cork circles glued to each corner to prevent scratching. Can be used individually or together as a trivet.

Thanks for looking!

Kristina Werner Colour Inspiration #50

Thought I would also play along with this challenge this week. Unusual colour combo for me so I kept it really simple and even tried some free hand faux stitching like Kristina does. However, I need some more practise at it as you can see...ha ha. The really sad thing is that I have a perfectly good and perfectly PINK sewing machine collecting dust in my craft room. Oh well, one of these days.

Mom

I haven't been making many (any) cards lately. I was away on two trips in April, one for fun and one for business. I was also down with a nasty chest cold for about a week. My husband and I also did an overhaul on my craft room last week so I have not had much time to create anything, but I plan to have me some fun this weekend!

As I will need a Mother's Day card soon I decided to play along with the LSC #37 this week. I love the colour combo and it gave me a chance to use PTI Hibiscus Burst paper. My friend Charlene, a Loonie Lady herself, and I found pink envelopes on clearance for 30 cents per package of 20 envelopes! They match PTI Hibiscus Burst paper perfectly. I think I bought about 300 envelopes so lots of pink cards coming up for the ladies in my life!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
