LSC #132

I was just checking out this week's loonie challenge cards and remembered I played last week and forgot to post. Maybe because I don't like my card.

I was inspired by Char's grey background and use of baker's twine and by Dee's felt flower, but the grey on my card is too dreary I think. I'll have to play along again this week and come up with something better this time :).

Thanks for visiting!

LSC #128...Sort Of

Well Hello!

It's been so long since I have blogged...or crafted. Just got busy with other things for a bit like Christmas, organizing the house (including over hauling my craft room), getting Jake thru exams, going to Mexico on vacation. It only took a month or so to settle into the New Year but I finally have and FINALLY spent some time in my craft room last night. It was so fun!

When I saw this week's Loonie Stampers Challenge I knew I wanted to play along. LOVE the colours and the "retro" twist. I love retro! I have over 40 pieces of vintage Pyrex, one of which is in the picture above. I also love the 70s coloured Tupperware when I can find it.

Unfortunately, when I went to make my card the brown just wasn't working so I left it out. The oven image on my card is from the "From my Kitchen" cartridge and the stamps are from AC "Washer" set.

In the right kitchen, I think retro appliances would be so fun. I love the bright colours and unique designs. If you like this sort of stuff too check out this link for some great eye candy.

Thanks for peeking and thanks Loonie girls for getting me back into my craft room after a too-long hiatus.

LSC # 109

Happy Saturday.

I made these cards last weekend, playing along with last week's Loonie Stampers Challenge. It was so grey and rainy all week I didn't have a chance to photograph. It's still grey and rainy but I took a pic today anyways.

Love the yummy fall colour combo of this challenge. I don't have the Harvest Gold colour so subbed with Summer Sunrise and added a touch of green too. Here's a shot of the "brown" card.

Thanks for peeking!

LSC #103...Text, Yellow, and Kraft!

I had some time today while waiting for my car to get fixed (it just needed a new battery thank goodness), so I played along with last week's Loonie Stamper's Challenge.

Normally I am not a lover of the yellow (although it seems to be the colour of the day around here), but after seeing it with kraft I have a whole new outlook. I was especially inspired by Wendy's card and just so happened to have some of that dotty biscotti dp with me here on vacation.

And because I am addicted to kraft card bases I made another while I had everything out.

These two cards are for two very special ladies in my life. One of whom may, or may not be, a Loonie herself.

LSC #99

Just popping in quick to share my card for this week's Loonie Stampers Challenge. I had an extra flower from this card. The doiley type stamp is from the Basic Grey Pretty Bird set, and the sentiment is Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday (and is my very favourite stamp ever) in Distress Broken China ink. The ribbon and button are PTI. Simple stuff.

Thanks for peeking!!

LSC #98...sort of

Haven't participated in a Loonie Stampers Challenge for a while. Thought I would give it a go this weekend but I messed up, I thought it was Ocean Tides instead of Aqua Mist. Oh well.

I stamped scraps of card stock with different PTI background stamps for this one and used a little flower made by Loonie gal Char long ago (that has been patiently waiting for me).

LSC #88...Mini Cards!!

This week's Loonie Stampers Challenge was to case a card made by one of the Loonies. I could spend weeks doing that! But I remembered these little cuties made by Dee and decided to make a set with that same fabulous set (Dot Spot by PTI) and kraft paper. The sentiments are from PTIs Signature Greetings set, as is all ink and cs. I would love to try some of Dee's envelopes some time as well.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to visit the Loonies!! You can get to them from Dee's blog.

LSC #87

It's been a while since I played along with my very favourite challenge...the Loonie Stampers Challenge! My dear friend Char and her very good friends, some of who have become super supportive blog pals of mine :), put this one on every Friday and it's awesome!! This week was no exception. However, I have a confession to make. I made this card BEFORE I knew the challenge colours and really, the only "black" is the ink. So I felt it only right to make another card (but I pretty much just copied the first one).

Thanks girls for another great colour combo...keep 'em coming!

I also included a couple shots of the banana cake with (very droopy) cream cheese icing I made last night. I'm embarassed to say my family of three has finished it already. But in our defense we did have a guest last night for dinner and I did take a big piece to my mom today. Isn't that blue bundt pan fun? This is the first cake I have ever made in a bundt pan and I see many more in my future.

Thanks for stopping by!

LSC #75

Happy Saturday! My fave day of the week.

I'm back to share my LSC card for this week's challenge. Great colout combo Char! I don't have any Terracotta Tile but found a piece of SU paper Char gave me that looks pretty close. All other products PTI.

I cut out the planter on my Cricut with the Walk in my Garden cart. The plant is made from the large pointsetta image in the PTI Peaceful Pointsetta set. I cannot believe how much use I have gotten out of that set. Sentiment is from PTI Everyday Button Bits set.

Thanks for visiting and have a good one!

LSC #74

Happy Sunday!

I hope you are having a nice weekend. We have been busy getting stuff done around the house and lots and lots of hockey. I did find some time to make a Loonie Stampers Challenge card. How could I not with that gorgeous colour combo?

The tree is a die cut from the Basic Grey Mellow line. All other products are PTI, including the sentiment which is from the Handwritten Notes set.

Loonie Stampers Challenge Catch Up

I don't know how I get so far behind on the LSC challenges. I used to do them weekly and will try to start doing so again. But I did catch up on 2 out of the last 3 challenges and also participated in this weeks. I kept it pretty simple, as usual.

This week's (#73):

These colours were a real challenge for me. I hardly ever use Berry Sorbet. I knew I wanted to do a cupcake but once that was done I had no idea what to use as a base or background so I followed Maria's faux stitching. I used the Ranger Inkssentials opaque pen. The cupcake is cut from the "From my Kitchen" Cricut cartridge. I think it's the first time I have used this cartridge but when it came out it was one of those "must haves" for me. Hopefully I will get more use out of it soon. The glitter on the card is Martha Stewart Brownstone and Garnet. Man I love that stuff.

#72:

Such a pretty colour map but when I pulled out the colours I had nothing, zilch, nada inspiration. I found this rub-on and thought I would make a little card for my husband Doug.

And finally #70 (I skipped #71 as it was Christmas):

I made another little note card type but with a real stitching border. It's almost straight too! lol. I used some of the crocheted flowers I have been hoarding for close to a year. The pp is Basic Grey but I can't remember what collection it is from.

Well, that's it for cards today. I'll leave you with a shot of the apple crisp I made for my son and his friend this morning. My mom gave me that beautiful deep dish pie plate and stand for Christmas. She knows I love to bake which makes it such a special, thoughtful gift to me.

Loonie Stampers Challenge(s)

There are so many great challenges out there in this blog world but who has time for them all? I am going to try to be more organized and participate in more of and them more often.

The one challenge I do try to always participate in is the Loonie Stampers Challenge, a weekly colour challenge put out by a group of friends, including my friend Charlene. These girls are all inspiring, and I have been playing along for over a year (I think). Unfortunately, I had gotten four weeks behind on the challenges so this weekend I spent some time catching up.

This week's:

I think this is a gorgeous Christmas combo but I am done making Christmas cards so thought I would try something a little different. I was thinking of attaching these tags to some Christmas baking for friends and neighbours. I would have liked to stamp the leaves in Spring Moss but I don't own that colour...yet ;)

Here's last week's:

Love this colour combo. I never seem to have enough birthday cards on hand so used this challenge as an opportunity to make a quick one. Not sure if you can see that the scalloped border is gold.

And finally #66:

I liked the colour map but couldn't seem to get anything going. I don't have any light grey cardstock and got the idea to use a grey copic...but seriously, what was I thinking with grey flowers?? And my sentiment is crooked. This one will NOT be going to a true friend, it won't be going to ANY friend...ha ha.
After the last card I thought I would leave it at that and not even attempt #67, although all the Loonies cards are really something in those colours. I am in absolute AWE of what Char did with that challenge..go see! From Char's blog you can link to the other girls.

LSC #65...a surprise!

The Loonies asked some of Char's friends to participate in a special challenge and blog tour this week for her birthday. Because I see Char at work everyday I gave her the card in the post below on Tuesday. I was sure that if I didn't give her a card it would be a signal that something was up and I am more than happy to make my good friend a second card! Happy Birthday Pal! SMILE!!

Char showed me the card she made for what she thought was this week's challenge. It's amazing and I gasped at the colour combo. I had to use it. I loved the Berry Sorbet so much I had to use it inside as well. The sentiment inside is Elzybells and was one of the first stamps I owned.

Check out all the Loonies cards, including the birthday gal herself, as well as the other participants in this fun challenge.

LSC #64 - Copics

This challenge came at a perfect time. I have recently started purchasing Copics in the Papertrey Ink Trios. I have 9 sets but have yet to try them. After seeing the Loonies cards I realize I have a loooong way to go. But I am anxious to learn as I love colouring.

This card is for my SIL Stacy whose birthday is next week, and it's a BIG one! Stacy is the closest sibling out of 4 to my hubby and is one of my closest friends. In fact, she was my friend before she was my SIL. How cool is that? Stacy actually officiated our wedding ceremony ala Joey Tribbiani on Friends style, but we were married before any nuptials on the show. Happy Birthday Stace!! Sorry my colouring sucks so bad...ha ha.

Thanks for stoppping by. Be sure to visit the Loonies blogs for their truly fantastic copic coluring skills.

LSC #63

Well, it's Monday and back to work after 3 glorious days off. *sigh*. On the positive, I did get some crafting done this weekend including catching up on the Loonie Stampers Challenges. I am not too sure about this colour combo, although I love what all the Loonies did. My card was inspired by this card with the three panels. I'm not crazy about the way it turned out, so maybe I will actually give this one away. Ha ha. (I tend to keep the ones I really like). This one will be handy for an office birthday some time I'm sure.

Thanks for visiting. Be sure to check out those Loonies! TFL!

LSC #62

Hello out there,

I am spending some time today catching up on some challenges. The first up is the Loonie Stampers Challenge #62. Love these colours. For my card I used my new Winter Wonderland cricut cartridge and the PTI Snowflake Serenede set. It's hard to see as my photo is dark but I stamped some background snowflakes in Versamark. I did cheat a bit with the touch of ocean tides.

Be sure to visit the Loonies cards for some Christmas inspiration. Char has links to everyone.
