Wish

Hello there

Popping in to share a little 6x6 canvas I made my niece for her 16th birthday a few weeks ago. Just used some supplies I had on hand and the cut the butterfly with my Cricut.

Not much to it but worked for a quick and easy gift.

Thanks for peeking.

Cricut Train Card

Hello,

It's my baby nephews 2nd birthday this weekend. Here's a little Cricut card I made for him using the My World and Plantin Schoolbook carts.

Here's the inside.

Cute, no?

Fall/ Halloween Porch Decoration

A few months ago I gave our porch a cheap makeover. As you can see, I like to keep things pretty simple. I finally got around to throwing the flowers and herbs away this past weekend and decided to do a little Fall/Halloween decorating.

I left our chairs and cushions but added the $5 garage sale urns my sister(lucky for me)never picked up. I stuffed the bases with newspaper before adding kale for the pumpkins to rest on. The little lanterns are from our rear deck now that we've put the patio set away. I love repurposing things we already own.

As for the Halloween decs I again kept it simple. I have a box full of all sorts of colourful/neon/light up stuff from when the kids were young but decided against that and just added a few things. I also used my Cricut to make a haunted house for the door and some cut outs for the window.

So that's it. Not much to it but I'm happy to have a new look without spending a dime. Other than the produce of course.

Thanks for peeking!!

Another Cricut Card

This is probably the most simple card ever but I couldn't resist that cute watermelon image. It's from the Doodlecharms cart. Green cs is PTI New Leaf and the pink is Bazzill from my stash. The sentiment and ribbon are PTI as well.

Thanks for visiting.

Cricut Bug

Had a little fun with my Cricut the other night. Image is from the Doodlecharms cart. PP is October Afternoon and the sentiment is PTI.

Thanks for visiting.

My Pink Stamper Colour Challenge

I'm back with another challenge card. This one is for My Pink Stamper's (Robyn) colour challenge. I found Robyn's blog when I was learning how to use my Cricut and I must say I learned alot from her videos!

As Robyn is the Cricut queen I thought it only fitting to use my Cricut for the challenge. The popsicles were cut from the Doodlecharms cart, which is actually out on loan right now, but thanks to my handy Gypsy I was able to still cut the image.

The paper is Bazzill from my stash. It's my favourite for using with the Cricut. The sentiment is from PTI's Signature Greetings. Ribbon and buttons are also PTI.

Thanks so much for popping in!!

Hockey Sign

Hi there!

No card to share but I thought I would post the sign I made for the big game tonight. My son's hockey team is in the city finals tonight! I hesitated making the sign as I thought it would be too juvenile (the kids are 13 and 14) but Jake says it's "sick," which anyone with teenagers knows is a compliment. I will confess I am a full blown hockey freak mom. I also do a lot of volunteering related to hockey hence the lack of crafting and blogging recently.

For the sign I used my Cricut and the Don Juan and Sports Mania cartridges, about $2 of cardstock and a 97 cent poster board. The banner on the top has each players name and number. I couldn't resist lacing up the skates. I will definitely use these images again for a hockey scrapbook page sometime in the future.

Oh, and I may have made the sign but I won't be raising it over my head at the game or anything. I'll give it to one of the little siblings on the team to do that! I'll be too busy cheering my face off.

Thanks for popping by.

LSC #75

Happy Saturday! My fave day of the week.

I'm back to share my LSC card for this week's challenge. Great colout combo Char! I don't have any Terracotta Tile but found a piece of SU paper Char gave me that looks pretty close. All other products PTI.

I cut out the planter on my Cricut with the Walk in my Garden cart. The plant is made from the large pointsetta image in the PTI Peaceful Pointsetta set. I cannot believe how much use I have gotten out of that set. Sentiment is from PTI Everyday Button Bits set.

Thanks for visiting and have a good one!

Happy Birthday Doug

It's my husband's birthday today. He is a motorcycler and is really missing riding this time of year so I thought I would incorporate that into his birthday card. I used my handy dandy Cricut to cut out the bike and road sign from the Going Places cart. I searched for a "road" thru my Gypsy but don't have any of the carts that contain road images so I cut one out by hand. The cs and sentiment are PTI. The shiny parts on the bike are supposed to be chrome...Doug LOVES his chrome. And he loved the card :).

Thanks for peeking! Sorry for the dark pic.

Cricut Station

No cards today but I thought I would share a pic of my new "Cricut Station" because it makes me really happy! I was inspired by Robyn (the Pink Stamper) who is the go-to-girl for all things Cricut IMO.

I'm in the process of re-organizing my craft room to make my space more functional. I will share photos when I am done.

Thanks for peeking!

Loonie Stampers Challenge Catch Up

I don't know how I get so far behind on the LSC challenges. I used to do them weekly and will try to start doing so again. But I did catch up on 2 out of the last 3 challenges and also participated in this weeks. I kept it pretty simple, as usual.

This week's (#73):

These colours were a real challenge for me. I hardly ever use Berry Sorbet. I knew I wanted to do a cupcake but once that was done I had no idea what to use as a base or background so I followed Maria's faux stitching. I used the Ranger Inkssentials opaque pen. The cupcake is cut from the "From my Kitchen" Cricut cartridge. I think it's the first time I have used this cartridge but when it came out it was one of those "must haves" for me. Hopefully I will get more use out of it soon. The glitter on the card is Martha Stewart Brownstone and Garnet. Man I love that stuff.

#72:

Such a pretty colour map but when I pulled out the colours I had nothing, zilch, nada inspiration. I found this rub-on and thought I would make a little card for my husband Doug.

And finally #70 (I skipped #71 as it was Christmas):

I made another little note card type but with a real stitching border. It's almost straight too! lol. I used some of the crocheted flowers I have been hoarding for close to a year. The pp is Basic Grey but I can't remember what collection it is from.

Well, that's it for cards today. I'll leave you with a shot of the apple crisp I made for my son and his friend this morning. My mom gave me that beautiful deep dish pie plate and stand for Christmas. She knows I love to bake which makes it such a special, thoughtful gift to me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cricut Kiss Me

I'm back with the third (and least favourite) card I made with the Sweethearts cartridge. It is such a cool cart in that it works for weddings and Valentines Day. The frog, sentiment, crown, and hearts were all cut from the cartridge. The pp is PTI and the cs is Bazzil. I added a little glitter to the hearts for fun. I will probably send this to one of my little nephews.

I'm hoping to find some time today to work on some challenges and do some baking. There is nothing better than a day at home to play in the kitchen and craft room IMO.

Have an awesome day whatever you are up to!!

Cicut Tree

Happy New Years! I am looking forward to a great year and have even set a few resolutions, which I don't usually do. We'll see how that goes. I even set a crafty resolution to participate in more challenges.

Here is another card I made with the Sweethearts cart the other night. I thought the tree image was adorable with the hearts on the trunk. I stamped it with my Hero Arts woodgrain stamp. The papers are all PTI except the green, which is Bazzill. The sentiment is from PTIs Everyday Button Bits set.

Thanks for stopping by and here's to the start of 2010! I hope it is a great year for you!!

Cricut Love

I am loving my Cricut right now! I bought the Sweethearts cartridge at the Michaels Boxing week sale and tried it out last night. This is the first of three cards I made. I will try to get pics in the daylight of the other two, but thought I would post this one for now as I want to get it into the mail.

My dear friend Robin got engaged on December 13th. There are so many wedding images in the cartridge but I couldn`t resist this dress and sweet little hanger. I used my swiss dots folder to give it some texture and added a touch of ribbon, some Maya Road flowers and some rhinestones. The heart is from the same cartridge and the stamp is from Autumn Leaves. CS is (of course) PTI.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Wedding Card Box, Favours, and Cricut Project #2

Hello out there!

I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating World Cardmaking Day yesterday. I meant to make some cards but got busy with some other projects. My friend Tracey (Hi Trace!) is getting married next weekend and I offered to do the favours. At the last minute I also decided to make her a wedding card box. A quick google and Etsy image search for inspiration and I was on my way. See this link for my inspiration photo from this amazing Etsy shop.

While this card box isn't as fancy, and I used paper instead of fabric to cover, I do love the way it turned out. And more importantly so do the bride and groom! Best of all, I was able to use all products that I had on hand. Which means it was either meant to be or I have way too much product kicking around my craft room. Ha ha.
Now the favours....

For these I used my Cricut and Bags, Tags, Boxes and More cartridge to cut out both the triangle and the tag. I printed the info on small Avery labels and attached them to the tag. One rhinestone on each to finish it off. Simple stuff. Inside are Hersheys Hugs and Kisses with a little strip of paper reading "Hugs and Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs."

I'm happy with how it all turned out. Now, who's getting married next so I can have some more fun???

Thanks for stopping by. And please forgive my poor photos. It snowed this morning and is very grey and dreary...no natural light.

LSC #52

This is one of my favourite Loonie Stampers Challenges in a while. I just love these rich, yet vibrant, colours. When I saw this colour map it reminded me of colours in my own home, and of Fall. Orange and green are my favourites, and a couple of years ago I took the plunge and covered our builder's beige walls in the family room off the kitchen with a burnt orange (Well, I didn't actually paint them....I left that to my sister who is a professional painter ha ha). Here's a shot of one of the corners in the room.

As for my card, I used my Cricut again (twice in one weekend, not bad!) to cut out the branches. I knew I wanted to use coloured branches but wasn't sure what I would use for the sentiment(which is a rub-on on acetate). That expression "friends forever" is so junior high to me, but it worked well on the card.

Please visit the Loonie Ladies to see their wonderful and inspiring creations. As my pal Char is just back from vaca I am going to link up Regan this week , who issued the challenge.

Thanks for visiting and have a fantastic day!

Cricut Project #1

So, how cute is this? I just had to have the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge when I bought my Cricut, yet I have never used it!

I made this little purse for my niece, Codi, who is turning 14 in a few days. She is going to Vegas (lucky girl) with her mom and grandma in a couple of weeks, so I will tuck a little American money in here for her trip as a birthday present. The purse is teeny...3 x 2.5 inches. I used velcro as a fastener underneath the over hang. I would have liked to make it pink and frilly but she is more into the Twilight-vampire scene these days so it had to be black. It took about 15 minutes from start to finish and more fun than simply tucking cash in a card (which I have yet to make).

I`ve decided to challenge myself to use my Cricut more and post the projects I complete. Thanks for checking out the first one!
